shiva kumar gadiga: I am Shivakumar Gadiga I love to paint my surroundings. Artistic vision encompasses various experiences and memories coupled with experience of living in communities of mixed cultural locations and identities. These aspects become the basis of my paintings to expand the boundaries of expression. Objects, images and forms represented in my paintings are imbued with an inner meaning. The images explored of specific moments, reinvent place and identity which are intertwined. My representations involve the connection across time with each image becoming as an important signifier. My perception of world and society is expressed through metaphorical images- human forms, along with surrounding objects, animals and birds. The varying perspectives of human mind; the differences, similarities and comparisons are embraced through various visual elements. This endeavor to explore the process of mind becomes a challenge and provides vast space for experimentation.
